Athlete of the Month – Stephanie Guillot

Hey, my name is Stephanie Guillot. I am a traffic engineer and work on projects with the State of Texas. We moved to Houston in 2011 from New Orleans. Patrick and I have been married for 10 years and we enjoy traveling and entertaining at home in the Heights.

I started CrossFit in 2012. Our good friends in New Orleans started doing CrossFit about year before we started. I noticed Rebecca’s well-defined arms and that is when I decided I wanted those arms! Patrick and I signed up for our CrossFit intro course shortly after that. CrossFit has really given us our amazing social network. We have gained lifelong friends from both gyms we have been members of.

My favorite WOD is Helen (3 rounds: 400m run, 21 kettlebell swings, 12 pullups) and my least favorite movement is toes-to-bar. Deadlifts is my favorite lift and Overhead Squats are my least favorite. My crossfit goals right now are working on my overhead mobility. Mastering the kipping pull-up is my proudest CrossFit moment/achievement. 

My favorite quote is: “I live to eat.” 

What advice would I give to newbies?

To really get better at CrossFit, you have to get out of your comfort zone and push your limits.
